About the rig
How the Sans MBTI test operates
The test is designed for velocity. Every prompt is tagged with an axis, a direction, and a weight. Likert answers translate to -2…+2 impulses and flow into a scoring engine that prefers clarity but gracefully flags ambiguity.
Scoring stack
Weights & math
- • Likert inputs remap to -2…+2 waves and multiply by weight.
- • Each axis normalizes its total weight so you see consistent percentages even when questions expand beyond 64.
- • Borderline triggers at 0.25 confidence, producing the retake-shortlist button.
Pair intelligence
Consistency pings
- • Related prompts share a pairId. If you spike opposite answers, we log a contradiction.
- • Each contradiction chips away at overall confidence up to 0.2 to keep overconfident types in check.
- • You can always clear or re-run the sequence—progress lives in localStorage.
The four axes

I ↔ E

JP

How you organize life: planned (J) or fluid (P).
